Serves 6. Prep 15 mins. Cooking 10 mins.

Ingredients

900g beef mince

All purpose seasoning

Salt & cracked black pepper

6 soft burger buns

Sauce Options:

  • Ketchup

  • Mustard

  • Mayo

  • BBQ sauce

  • Tomato relish

12 cos or romaine leaves

1 red onion, thinly sliced

2 tomatoes, sliced

6 slices, Dairylea Burger Slices

Pickle slices

Beetroot slices (opt)

Pineapple slices (opt)

Bacon (opt)

Fried egg (opt)

Method

  • Prepare meat patties, allowing 150g per pattie. Gently shape the mince into pattie shapes without pressing or compressing too hard (makes tough patties, as opposed to juicy). You want them to be slightly larger than your buns.

  • Prepare all the toppings and sauces ready for assembly - once you start cooking you won’t have a change to stop.

  • Season patties and prepare grill or pan over high heat. Cook patties 1 1/2 minutes each side. Top with cheese (if having) immediately after the flip. Remove from heat and rest for 3 minutes.

  • Toast your buns over high heat until browned and crispy.

  • To assemble, sauce up each side of your bun with your sauce(s) of choice, then assemble your chosen toppings, and enjoy!
